A Christmas Layout

This is the layout that my monthly stamp club will be making for January. The layout design is GRAND FINALE from the Imagine book. I also used the exclusive stamp set from the Jingle Workshops on the Go, Something Special for the presents. I also used some of the B&T papers from the Jingle Level 2 paper kit. The colors are Juniper, Creme Brulee and Tulip.

Happy New Year!

I am so glad it is the New Year! 2009 was a very trying year for our family financially with me not working until the end of August. As soon as I got a job, Tony got layed off! But I kept my faith that God would see us through it and he did. We might not have been able to go out to eat, but we had plenty of food in the freezer thanks to my husband being an excellent hunter! I know that there are other people that are really suffering.

We brought the new year in by having an oyster roast at my oldest daughter Ashley's house. My sister Nadalie and her family came and also our Mom and Dad. We bought 100lbs of oysters and they were gone by the end of the night. They were so good!

Here are the "men folk" cooking the oysters. They steamed them this year instead of using a fire. They were able to cook more at a time and quicker. I still prefer the old-fashioned way of standing around the fire pit waiting for them to get ready. LOL!

The kids played the Wii while waiting for the oysters to cook.

Here is Skylar, my nephew's daughter giving Tony a kiss. This was the 1st time she let him hold her without crying and then she kissed him. He was in hog heaven!

This is my youngest grandson Davis with Ashley's fiancee Mark after he had several smores, I think he got as much on him as in him. LOL.

Since it was New Year's and I knew all the crazies would be on the road, we stayed the night at Ashley's house and slept in her spare bedroom upstairs. When we were leaving the next morning, I missed the 1st step and went down about 6 or 7 steps on my BUTT! They only reason I didn't bounce all the way down is because Tony was behind me and finally caught me by my right arm. Needless to say, I was very sore but thankfully, I don't think I broke my tailbone. Ashley called me later in the day and let me know that she could see the shoe marks on her carpet showing my path. LOL!
